Fluffy TV stars on Island

CBeebies Nuzzle and Scratch at Chiswell on Portland

FLUFFY new television characters replaced actors from the departing film The Boat That Rocked on Portland.

CBeebies’ two new stars Nuzzle and Scratch were at the seafront close to the Cove House Inn in Chiswell.

Angie South, landlady at the public house, had been asked by the film-makers from The Boat That Rocked if they could use her pub but pulled out in the end, using Kimmeridge instead.

Mrs South finally had the chance to witness filming on the Island when she welcomed the CBeebies team.

After being contacted by the BBC she agreed to let the crew use parts of her pub to prepare equipment.

The crew also needed some children for the programme so Mrs South contacted Brackenbury School in Fortuneswell and pupils will join her grandson as extras for the two-day shoot.

She said: “The crew were in and out all day and they came in for lunch and enjoyed themselves “They were all nice people.”

When Nuzzle and Scratch help out window cleaner Bob Sheen, they make quite a splash … all over Bob himself!

Julian Dutton has also recently filmed a guest appearance in the new CBBC series NUZZLE & SCRATCH playing the Head Teacher Mr Haddock. The series will be broadcast later in the year.

Nick Wilton plays Mr Squeaky in the new BBC series, Nuzzle & Scratch (10th September & 8th October
at 4.40pm on the CBeebies channel)
